SIGNING UP FOR GAMES
As a Referee, you make your schedule! To sign up for Region 143 games, you will use one of the links below, depending on the age group.

INSTRUCTIONS
• Please sign up for games as early as possible in the week. Please help us to make sure all games are covered . Sign-ups must be done online, so we know the games are covered. The game belongs to the REFEREE/AR who signed up for it online. You should always carry your referee gear.

• Please DO NOT sign up for more than 2 games prior to Friday. On Friday, you can sign up for any additional games. Waiting till Friday will allow other teams' referees to find convenient referee spots and allow those teams to achieve their points. Please DO NOT sign up for games more than two weeks out.

• Please DO NOT sign up to referee games in your own division. Example, your child is U10G, then referee a U10B game or another age division.

• Please DO NOT not sign up to Referee or AR your own game. If no one has signed up to AR your child's game by Friday, then sign up. If no one shows on game day to Referee (center), then referee it.

REFEREE POINTS

REFEREE POINT SYSTEM

For a team to be eligible for post-season play, their referee(s) must earn a minimum amount of points by refereeing games on Region 143 fields.

FALL 2024 SEASON

To clear your team for playoffs, one of the following is achieved:

A single, non-coach referee earns a total of 190 points
Two non-coach referees each earn 140 points, for a combined total of 280 points
One dual certified coach/referee and one non-coach referee each earn 140 points, for a combined total of 280 points*

Total points needed and points per role (below) vary each season based on the number of games in the region.

*Head Coaches that are dual-certified cannot clear their teams as an individual referee; at least 50% of the points must come from a 2nd non-coach volunteer.

EARNING POINTS

To earn points, you must be a certified Referee (Region badge or higher). If you are an 8U Official with an older player in 9/10U and above, you will not earn points for 8U games, you must be at least a Regional-level Referee.
A Referee or Assistant Referee (AR)* will only earn points for the division they are qualified to officiate. If you have a Regional-level badge and somehow end up doing a 14U or higher game, you will only receive points for a 12U game (you cannot be covering games higher than what you're qualified for, unless you have explicit permission from the Region Referee Administrator).
You will only earn points for games in Region 143. If you are at your own player's game in another region and you step in as a Center Referee, contact the Ref Admin and Coordinator for consideration (on a case-by-case basis); in general you should not be officiating your own player's games.
*Assistant Referees (AR) - to earn points as an AR, you MUST be in uniform, otherwise you are a "Club Linesman" and there are no points for that role. If you act as an AR on a game that you are not qualified for (e.g. you have a Regional-level badge, but act as an AR on a 14U or higher game), then you are technically also a "Club Linesman"; in this case, if you are in full uniform and act as an AR with the knowledge and permission of the qualified Center Referee, then you will receive points for a 12U game.

Regional Referees are qualified up to 12U
Intermediate Referees are qualified up to 14U
Advanced Referees are qualified up to 16U
National Referees are qualified for all divisions

Points must be entered within two weeks of a game - each game has to be entered separately. If you have two kids playing in 9U & older, both teams will receive the points (you'll see how to claim for two teams on the form)
