SPRING PROGRAM & REGISTRATION INFO

Registration opens October 27, 2024 @ 12:00 pm
and will be open thru January 10, 2025

$95 - 6U & above (all divisions, including Extra)
$150 - Playground and Schoolyard

Available discounts for Spring Soccer:
Active military, police, firefighter ($20 per player, must register before 1/10/25)
Note: discounts cannot be combined

THERE ARE NO LATE REGISTRATION FEES IN REGION 143

*Registration fee does not include: $25 non-refundable AYSO Player Membership Fee collected by the National Office (paid only once per membership year 8/1-7/31); $2.75 transaction fee collected by Sports Connect.
* Only one discount may be applied to any order (for example, if there is an early bird discount, you may not combine that with a military discount); discounts cannot be applied to orders for players receiving Region scholarships.

PROGRAMS & AGE GUIDE
  • Teams will be formed based on volunteer coach availability in 6U - 19U.
  • ALL players will register under the "2025 Spring Soccer" program (including Select or Extra).
  • Please read about the spring season format below.
  • The system will show you available programs based on player birth date (see the age determination chart to the right)
  • Players play in same division as in the Fall 2024 season. In some cases, players who will be aging up in the following fall season, may be considered for playing up in Spring. Requests to "play up" should be made to your current division coordinator and will be considered based on the player's maturity, sportsmanship, skills, the balance of teams, and the enrollment in the affected divisions. 
  • 7U and 8U are combined into the 8U division; 8U will be playing 6 v 6 (no goalies).
  • Players aged 3.5-5 may have program options - read more about our programs for Young Players

SPRING SEASON FORMAT

  • The spring season in 6U & 8U is basically like the fall season - we follow our general player request policy (see below) for these divisions. We do allow for some player/coach requests in 10U and above in spring. Requests are never guaranteed. Our number one goal is to create divisions that foster a fair and fun playing experience for ALL teams.
  • The 10U and above divisions are bound by the Area 11K rules for the Spring season. We offer REC (recreational) and SELECT play for 10U-14U. REC is our general "Core" program in which the vast majority of players will play. SELECT is intended for more competitive play and may not available in all divisions (to be determined by Area). 
  • Fall EXTRA teams carry over and are expected to play in the EXTRA program for spring; in some cases, they may 'play up' in SELECT. The EXTRA coordinator and the Registrar will work with EXTRA coaches directly for spring placement. 
  • In SELECT and the UPPER DIVISION (16U & 19U), our teams are "coach driven". This means our volunteer coaches can build/recruit teams.
  • Coaches who want to play in SELECT will need to reach out to the division coordinator who will consult with the Coach Admin and Registrar to discuss team building. 
  • Please note that even if players are requested/recruited for a team, those players must be registered prior to the division becoming full or the registration deadline (whichever comes first), in order to be placed on the requested team. We will NOT hold places for players who aren't registered.
MAKING REQUESTS
  • Be sure ALL player/coach requests are added in Sports Connect during registration. If you forgot or need to add/update, log into your account and click on the pencil icon next to your player's name; look for your player's spring registration questions, complete the info, and click save/update.
  • Coaches, please check in with your coordinator if you have questions.


SPRING VOLUNTEERS

  • Coaches must attend the mandatory coach meeting/training - YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COACH UNLESS YOU ATTEND IN-PERSON
  • All teams are required to have a coach, team manager, a minimum of two referees (one referee for 8U teams).
  • Teams will also need an Assistant Coach.
  • Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers must sign up online at ayso143.org as a volunteer in the Spring 2025 program and complete all the volunteer requirements for their roles.
  • Referees who volunteered in fall do not need to sign up separately in spring. Referees who didn't participate in fall must sign up under the "Referee Volunteers: Fall 2024-Spring 2025" program.
  • Teams must also have a field maintenance volunteers.

  • The Area 11K Training Academy is February 22, 2025 at Ocean View High School - Coach and Referee certification courses will be offered. It's a great time for upgrade your referee badge, or get your next-level coach cert early if your player is aging up in Fall.

SPRING SEASON SCHEDULE

6U & ABOVE TEAMS*

  • Practices start in mid-February (coaches determine their teams practice schedules)
  • Games run early March thru mid-May (exact dates TBA
  • There are NO games the weekend March 29 & April 19
  • Some divisions will have an occasional game on a Sunday - all games on the schedule are required, a team cannot opt out of playing.
  • If you don't hear from a coach regarding your player by Feb 20th, please email the coordinator or [email protected]

*16U/19U Divisions & EXTRA - the season beginning and end dates may be slightly different than above (please refer to info from your coordinator).  

PLAYGROUND & SCHOOLYARD

  • Playground & Schoolyard run for 8 weeks between beginning early March (exact date TBA)
  • There are no practices or games, just one session per week
  • NO sessions the weekends of March 29 & April 19
  • Playground is either Friday at 5:00 pm or Saturday at 9:30 am
  • Schoolyard is either Friday at 6:00 pm or Saturday at 10:30 am
  • All sessions are at Harbour View Elementary Field on the Algonquin side by the shed

The effective date of age determination for registration shall be the player's age as of December 31, 2024 (except for 6U, Schoolyard and Playground). The registration system will only offer 'available programs' based on birth date.

*6U is a team format in our Core program with practices and games led by a volunteer coach. It is open to players born in 2019, as well as players who turn 4.5 by the start of the program.

* Playground is a clinic-style program, with professional trainers, specially designed for 3.5 to 4 year old players to develop fundamental motor skills that will prepare the child for soccer and other sports. It is open to 3.5 - 4.5 year old players.

* Schoolyard is a clinic-style program, with professional coaches, designed for 4 & 5 year old players that continues the learning of fundamental motor skills and introduces soccer skills. It is open to 4-5 year old players.

Individuals who reach nineteen years of age by December 31st of the end of the Membership year are not eligible to participate.

PLAYER VERIFICATION

PLAYER VERIFICATION
If your player is new to Region 143 or has not been verified, please securely upload a photo or scan of the player’s birth certificate or passport during registration. There are other circumstances when returning players may also need to provide age verification (you will receive an email if you're affected). UNVERIFIED PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ADDED TO TEAMS. All players must be verified by January 15th. If you've already registered, you can go back to upload by clicking the pencil icon next to your player's name in the "my account" page. PLAYER REQUEST POLICY

6U/7U/8U Divisions

  • Head Coach may make two "requests":
    1) Assistant Coach (and his/her player)
    AND
    2) EITHER a player whose parent is willing to be the Team Manager, OR a player whose parent is willing to be a Referee. The second player parent needs to be a currently registered volunteer and certified for the position.
  • Head Coach CANNOT request any other volunteers/players.
  • Requests from one player to be with another player may be honored so long as they aren’t either of the two players picked by the coach and so long as they players aren’t trying to “daisy chain” together a whole team.


10U & Above Divisions

  • Coach can pick Assistant Coach as long as team balance can be maintained by the request.
  • Coach CANNOT request any other players.
  • Requests from one player to be with another player will be ignored.

**DO NOT PLAY WITH REQUESTS: 
We will always honor a warranted 'do not play' request, if possible. As teams become larger and fewer teams are available, this may not always be possible. The parent will have to decide if they want to drop if the request cannot be honored.
